About Us...

In 2011, we had a lot of
family treasures that
needed to find homes, so
we began an ETSY shop.
This is when we realized
that we loved the hunt
for vintage items, and
it became our hobby. I
caught "Vintage-itis" and
I hear there is no cure! My handsome
husband, John, also has this disease, so we decided that we should open a special place to share with each other and with others. At first it was a hunt for pretty antiques, but we noticed that the odd items were more popular with our customers.

     Our hobby grew over
 the years until we
had so much stuff
that there was no
 way to get it all
in the ETSY shop.
 In 2016, we opened our
physical shop in the Great Bridge
area of Chesapeake, VA. We love nature and the interconnectedness of living things. We believe in the motto "Reduce Re-use Recycle.... & Re-purpose!" That is why we chose to use old pallet wood planks on the walls of our shop and built shelves out of pipes and reclaimed

     He has a love of
vehicles which is
reflected in our
collection of car models
and toys. His love of
vehicles grew even more
when he acquired our
1988 hearse named
“Hellin Back.” We currently
drive her all over the place!
Some may notice that we have lots of science in our shop (because science is like magic but real!) - including rocks, minerals, fossils, skulls, and other natural oddities. This was a natural addition to our curiosities inventory as I am a biologist by profession and have been a full-time faculty member in biology at the local community college for over 20 years. Before my teaching career, I spent 10 years working at the Virginia Zoo as a zookeeper of reptiles/small mammals then as the Vet Assistant and Zoo’s first Registrar where I oversaw keeping the animal records and permits up to date.

In January of 2023 we made the huge decision to take over the whole corner and expand our shop into the large building previously occupied by AG WRAPS (our Land Daddy). In June of 2023 we began the remodeling activities and opened the new areas in September of 2023. Our Creepisan Gallery showcases over 20 awesome vendors and artists! The Odditorium is a great place for our new offerings of workshops, classes, and events! We used lots of love and positive energy to build our spaces and hope everyone gets an opportunity to come and sit for a spell (pun intended!) Old things tell us a story, a glimpse into the past. That is why you will find old photographs, old jewelry, and other cool odd items to preserve their history. But we also feel that we are building a community. We have our weird light on and hope that it attracts others that are like-minded. Our space is a safe place for all sorts of people! We hope you can stop by sometime and enjoy the shop!
